Car Dealership Websites in Durban

We build car dealership websites for Durban dealers: a fast, credible site, a stock feed that keeps it current, and enquiries that reach a person instead of a shared inbox nobody checks.

Durban dealers serve a catchment that stretches well up and down the coast, so a buyer is often deciding whether you are worth a drive before they have spoken to anyone at your dealership.

The audit is free and yours to keep, including the part where we tell you what to fix on the site you already have.

Working with Durban dealers from Cape Town

We are based in Cape Town, not Durban. No branch, no local rep, and we are not going to suggest otherwise. Everything is built and run remotely, and the FAQ below is specific about how that works and when it would not suit you.

What a Durban dealer is really up against

Distance is doing more work in KwaZulu-Natal than in a tight metro. A buyer in Ballito weighing a car in Pinetown is making a travel decision as much as a purchase decision, and almost all of that decision happens on a phone before anyone picks up.

The numbers behind that are not local to Durban, they are how car buying works now: 92% of buyers decide online before they call, the average dealer takes around 42 hours to respond, and the first dealer to reply wins roughly 78% of the time. A site that is slow to load or slow to answer loses on all three.

What we build for Durban dealerships

Start where it hurts. Most dealers start with the site, then switch on the marketing, then the back office. You are not buying all three today.

The part nobody explains

What vehicle data costs, and who has to hold the subscription

This one catches dealers out, so it is worth explaining before somebody quotes you for it. If you want a system that can look a vehicle up properly, by code and specification rather than by someone typing a model name into a box, that lookup data is licensed. It is not free, and it is not ours to hand out.

In South Africa the practical route is TransUnion's automotive data, resold through partners. The published rate through Imagin8 is about R1,695.85 a month flat for the first 127 transactions, sliding down per transaction as the volume climbs. That is a real line item, and a supplier who never mentions it is either absorbing it quietly or not doing the lookup properly.

Our position is that the dealer holds their own subscription and we build the socket it plugs into. That is arithmetic rather than principle: buying it centrally and reselling it only becomes cheaper at a scale we are nowhere near, and holding it yourself means the account and the data stay yours if you ever leave us.

It also explains something that confuses people. When a valuation or quoting tool asks you to prove you hold a TransUnion account before it will switch a feature on, that is not the tool being awkward. It is the tool staying inside its licence.

Areas we cover around Durban

The work is remote, so this is where we can serve a dealer rather than where we happen to have an office. If your suburb is not on the list it does not mean no.

Questions from Durban dealers

Are you actually in Durban?

No. We are in Cape Town and the work is done remotely. If having someone physically present matters more to you than the result, say so on the call and we will tell you straight that we are not your best option.

What does working remotely actually involve?

All of it. The build, the stock feed, the training and the monthly work are done remotely, the same way they are for every client outside Cape Town. You get a live preview link from the first week, so you are watching the site take shape rather than waiting for a reveal. Nothing about this job needs someone standing on your floor, and we would rather be honest about that than pretend we have an office we do not have.

We already pay for listings. Why add a website?

Because a listing is rented and a site is owned. The portals are worth using; the problem is that everything you build there belongs to them, including the buyer. We have written this out properly in our guide on owning your buyers rather than renting them.

Can you help if our site is fine but nothing comes through it?

That is the more common problem, and it is usually the enquiry path rather than the design. The free audit will tell you which one it is, and if it is a quick fix we will say so rather than quote you a rebuild.

A free audit of your Durban dealership site

We take a handful of dealer builds at a time. Book a free audit and we'll show you, on your own numbers, exactly what this would change.
